Absolutely! I realise not everyone has access to a gym or enjoys going, so there is plenty on the app you can do at home. There is a beginner at home plan on the app as well as a 3-day minimal kit plan that can easily be done from home with just a few small purchases. Nearly all the mobility exercises on the app and the various warm-ups can also be done using minimal kit, plus much more!
Many people overestimate the amount of time they need to commit to improve their fitness for golf. All sessions in the various strength/power programmes are designed to be completed within 45 minutes as there is no need to be working out for hours and hours a week. Most of us don’t have that time and in fact you can get great results in as little as 2-3 hour’s total work per week.
Many app users see club head speed increases of 5mph plus with some even experiencing 10mph gains. That kind of speed increase is game changing! Users often also report less aches and pains, lower scores/ handicap, feeling less fatigued during rounds and numerous benefits away from the course as well such as reduced body fat and moving/ feeling better all round.
For the gym programmes, the equipment used is typically found in a gym. If your gym doesn’t have a particular piece of equipment, this isn’t a problem. Alternative exercises with different pieces of kit are often listed on the app. You can also message me within the app if you are unable to perform an exercise and I can provide an alternative.
For the at-home programme all you need is your bodyweight, a resistance band and a loaded bag. For the minimal kit plan I recommend getting a resistance band, a pair of adjustable dumbbells and preferably a slam/medicine ball as well. You can achieve a lot with just a few small pieces of kit that isn’t overly expensive!
Yes, there are various programmes on the app. It includes basic programmes aimed towards beginners (2 day at-home programme) through to more complex and advanced programmes aimed towards people with more fitness experience (4-day strength and power programme). This allows the app to be used by golfers of all different abilities and fitness levels.
Potentially to start with yes, as any time a new stimulus is placed on the body it needs time to adjust. This shouldn’t take long though and the best way to reduce soreness is to develop a body that is used to training, as well as taking care of your nutrition, hydration and sleep.
If you have an injury or health condition and want to start a fitness programme it is always best to get your doctor’s consent.
